So I thought now would be the time to remind everyone to STAY HYDRATED.
Dehyrdation is a very serious concern that is especially important to consider in the hot, summer months when people tend to spend a lot of their time outdoors.
Not only should you BRING WATER EVERYWHERE but you should also try and limit your salty food and soda intake as these foods steal your water from your body, and try to consume more hydrating foods.
Examples:
Pears, Cucumbers, Strawberries, Raw Spinach, Zucchini, Mangos, Tomatoes , Broccoli, Romaine Lettuce, Celery, Grapefruit, Watermelon, Blueberries, Popsicles, Eggplant, Yogurt, Pineapple, Red Seedless Grapes, Navel Oranges, Carrots, Raspberries, Bell Peppers, Mixed Greens, Salads, Cantaloupe, Apples
Many of these foods, such as celery, cucumber and watermelon are more than 90% water!
So when you’re having a family cookout or going on a picnic be sure to pack along some of these foods in addition to plenty of water and stay safe this summer!
